Templates

Free document templates you can print or fill online.

Blank forms, filled invoice samples for twelve trades, and editable Word and Excel versions. Every download is print-ready — PDF, Word or Excel — with no account, no email gate and no watermark.

Invoice templates by profession

Each one is a filled sample you can copy, not just a blank page. Download the PDF to see the structure, then open the generator to make your own.

Blank document templates

Print-ready forms with labelled writing lines, for the days you would rather use a pen or a PDF editor.

Word and Excel templates

Prefer an editable document? These open in Word, Excel, Google Docs or LibreOffice. Replace the bracketed text and save — no macros, no add-ins, no account.

Google Docs and Google Sheets

Download the Word or Excel file, upload it to Google Drive, and open it with Google Docs or Sheets. The fields and formulas carry over; check the page layout after import.

Fillable PDF

Type directly into the PDF in Adobe Reader, Chrome, Edge or Preview. Good when you want a fixed layout and a fillable form, not a spreadsheet.

How to use a template

  1. Download the PDF, Word or Excel file and print or edit it, or open the matching online tool.
  2. Fill in your business details and the client’s legal billing details. The legal name is what their accounts payable team matches against.
  3. Give the document a unique number and a due date. A term like Net 30 is not a due date on its own.
  4. Keep the numbered copy with the invoice or the job file. If a payment is queried, it is the first thing you will need.

Every template uses the same clean one-page layout: A4, standard fonts, no stock photos. Nothing is uploaded when you use the online versions — the form, the totals and the PDF all run in your browser.

Not sure which document to send?

The short version: quote before, invoice after, credit note to correct, purchase order when you are the buyer, work order to authorise a job, delivery note for goods, statement of account to collect. The guide walks through a full project sequence.

FAQ

Are the templates really free?

Yes. Every PDF, Word and Excel template and the online generator are free. There is no account, no email gate and no watermark on the document.

Can I edit the PDFs?

The PDFs are print-ready forms, not AcroForm files. The Word and Excel versions are editable; use those to type into the file. The online generator creates a finished PDF and calculates the totals.

Which template should I use?

Use a quote before the work, an invoice after it, a timesheet to record hourly work, an expense report to claim costs, a purchase order to buy, a work order to authorise a job, a delivery note for goods and a statement of account to collect several open invoices. For an editable file, use the matching Word or Excel version.

Do the templates include sales tax?

They include a tax line. Whether you should use it depends on your state and what you sell; there is no federal sales tax in the US.

Are these templates US-specific?

Yes, the wording and fields are aimed at US freelancers and small businesses. The online tools let you change the currency, but you should check local tax and numbering rules before using them in another country.
